What does a ‘toothpick’ of essential oil mean?

Since some essential oils are very potent, it doesn’t take much in comparison to the actual ingredient to flavor your food. As a general rule of thumb with these oils, start with a toothpick dipped in the oil then stir it into the mixture, adding more of the oil to taste as it is needed.

Remember, you can always add more in, but you can’t take it out once it’s in!
